Untitled[edit]

There are more than one actors named Robert Shaw. The Robert Shaw who had the leading role in "Son of the Guardsman" (Columbia Films, 1946) is NOT the same Robert Shaw who starred in "Jaws" and "The Sting" as you have mistakenly given credit to on your wikipedia page. The Robert Shaw who had the leading role in "Son of the Guardsman" was my father Robert Gottschall who died in Jan., 2005. Check out my father's webpage at www.imdb.com. The photo on my father's webpage is one of my dad in the costume he wore when he played David Trent, the Son of the Guardsman. Feel free to compare the photo of the wrong Robert Shaw you have listed and the photo of the real Son of the Guardsman. You will see the difference and the proof. My dad was given the screen name of Robert Shaw when he was signed as a contract actor in 1937. He still carried his Screen Actors Guild card with him when he died. His Screen Actors Guild card has the name Robert Shaw on it. Dad wasn't the only Robert Shaw movie star. But he does happen to be the one playing the lead role in "Son of the Guardsman." My name is Mark Gottschall. Email me at imgotch@yahoo.com if you have any questions. When my dad's webpage on imdb came out, they had the information wrong, too. But after much effort and editing, our family was finally able to straighten out the discrepancies and misinformation about who was which Robert Shaw. If you want the correct information, please visit dad's webpage on imdb.Imgotch (talk) 00:11, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Noted and changed. I've also created a stub article for the real Robert Shaw at Robert Shaw (American actor) - the name was already listed on the Robert Shaw disambiguation page. I didn't have much information to put in the article but you may. Remember to provide references for any facts if you do add anything. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 04:54, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Character names are not indicated in on-screen cast credits[edit]

It should be noted that, since the character names are not specified in either the opening or closing credits of each chapter, their form in the article's cast list is taken from various resources, primarily IMDb, as well as from personal viewing by editors. For the record, below is a reproduction of the cast listing as it appears in the opening credits of the 15 chapters:
