Needs a serious edit[edit]

I don't have the time to do so, but this article is in serious need of editing for tone. As it is, it sounds like some sort of editorial, not an encyclopedia article. I'm half tempted to mark for VfD, but I think that it could potentially be salvaged. Perhaps merge into Summer Solstice Parade and Pageant. Certainly, there doesn't need to be year-by-year photos. One photo should be sufficient to illustrate the concept.
