Article title[edit]

Should this article be called "Soloti military training ground shooting" if it didn't actually happen in Soloti? The titles of the article in other languages seem to call it "Belgorod Oblast training ground shooting" or something of that nature. Silent-Rains (talk) 02:56, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Soloti military training ground shooting → Belgorod Oblast training ground shooting – Per Silent-Rains' reasoning above, the shooting didn't actually occur in Soloti, therefore the title is inaccurate. Comment I surveyed the top ten hits in Google News. Practically all of them say “in Belgorod region” or “in southwestern Belgorod region.” A couple did say “in Soloti,” which is reasonable because the training ground is at Soloti, adjacent to the town, and the Russian-language article does describe the base as “In the village of Soloti there is located, built in 2017, a military town and training ground of the 752nd Motor Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Motor Rifle Division of the Western Military District” (В селе Солоти расположен построенный в 2017 году военный городок и полигон 752-го мотострелкового полка 3-й мотострелковой дивизии западного военного округа). I think keeping the current title supports the WP:CRITERION of precision, but I don’t feel strongly about it. —Michael Z. 18:21, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
