Family Military Tradition[edit]

I edited a line that says he came from a family with no military tradition. In the Intro. of his book references are made to family service in the Scots Greys and Black Watch.--Samunoz1 21:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HONG KONG POLICE[edit]

I read Simon's book whilst living in Algeria in 1979. I have tried in vain for years to get a copy of it for friends to read. Simply, because I was enthralled. I was living in Skikda at the time ( pre revolution it was known as Phillipsville ).
From what I understood at the time, it was an area of Algeria along with Annaba & Constantine that was in the thick of the revolution. I may be wrong, BUT I was certain in Simon's ' Legionare ' he was later appointed head of Hong Kong police ???? There is nothing in his book about being with the Hong Kong Police as far as I'm aware. He went to HK as a businessman with the firm Jardine Matheson. I suppose it's possible he was later on some sort of citizens' advisory council to the police, but not stated in the book. By the way, Presidio Press (a division of Ballantine I think) has the book back in print (paperback) complete with the photos. Engr105th (talk) 15:47, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

School[edit]

The article states Murray attended Bedford School, then states he "dropped out of school in 1960". He would have been 19 or 20 in 1960. The Wiki article on Bedford indicates it is for boys up to age 18...My question is Did Murray actually drop out without finishing school? I've seen no source that says so. I'm changing that line to something neutral such as "following school"...Engr105th (talk) 17:03, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
