I need a WP:RS that Yekkes don't shokel. According to what I've heard, Rabbi Joseph Breuer traced this back to the Arizal, but I have absolutely no idea whether this has been recorded.

I do also know that the Maharil used to shokel standing but not sitting. JFW | T@lk 15:40, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rabbi Avraham ben Moshe forbids this practice[edit]

Many mitnagidim wrote in newspapers against this practice in the 18th century. R' Avraham says it is forbidden in his halakhot to perform any form of worshipping that is not one of the three mentioned in the Torah: standing, prostration, and sitting. The Ben Ish Chai in his halakhot says it is forbidden. These are just some opinions against the practice. If anyone wants to neutralize this article, look up these sources and quote them. This article as is, is one sided. 122.226.60.250 (talk) 15:48, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
