Rankings outside of A and B Finals[edit]

Is it possible to give a ranking for competitors outside the A and B finals, or not really? Andjam 00:43, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In short track competitions, skaters are allocated points based on their place in each stage, as follows: 34 for 1st place, 21 for 2nd, 13 for 3rd, 8 for 4th, 5 for 5th, 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th, 1 for 8th. Skaters who reach the finals are ranked by their place in the finals, and the rest are ranked by their total points. If skaters are tied on points, they are ranked by their time in the latest stage they reached. In the Olympics, final B also counts as a final. In case there are less than 8 eligible skaters in the finals, the highest ranked skaters who didn't reach the finals are promoted.--Nitsansh 22:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
