Underground or overground[edit]

I think this should be moved back to station as it is still unclear whether this will be Underground or overground station Simply south 21:59, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the confusion arises because Transport for London will still be running the line, but it will be a TfL London Rail service not a TfL London Underground service. Therefore, the station name should be in the format "xxx railway station".
The existing stations on the ELL will need updating to this format with the exception of Whitechapel tube station which should become Whitechapel station because it will be served by both tube and rail services and the New Cross stations which should be changed to New Cross Gate railway station and New Cross railway station as they will no longer have a tube service. It's interesting to see that all of these already have redirect pages under the future name. DavidCane 23:17, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent developments[edit]

The content here is either not very recent and relates to a local councillor seeking to change the name of the station some 5 years ago or is speculative future-gazing. I propose to delete it altogether unless anyone objects?Oinky (talk) 10:42, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
