Article author[edit]

I created this article in response to an email I received from Shift's CEO Todd Defren, asking if Shift should have a Wikipedia page. I have authored a lot of articles on PR agencies and PR topics, like Waggener Edstrom, History of public relations, the Public Relations Society of America and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. I sort of consider it my "beat" since we do not have a lot of good editors with a PR background. The article on Public relations use to degrade due to good-faith, hyper-editorialized editing from PR folks and I would do a massive revert and/or cleanup every year or so. I think due to the controversy around PR participation, PR reps have stopped editing it, which is actually too bad, because that is an area we would want the industry contributing.

Anyways, user:Charles Matthews suggested I may not have a COI, though I would consider I may have a very small one, since I have previously benefited from my relationship with Shift's CEO. Shift has not had any input on the article and I told him I would be fulfilling my journalistic duty as a volunteer and am not here to do them any favors, but to cover a topic that is part of my usual "beat" here on Wikipedia.
