note that a link to the subject's personal blog does not constitute reliable third party sourcing. -- The Red Pen of Doom 17:58, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is not the subject's personal blog, but an online anthology of kannada poets . [1] vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki (talk) 18:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is a blog, and except for news blogs like those at CNN or Reuters, blogs such as above are not considered reliable references under the Wikipedia policy. Please read WP:RS first. You may want to get references to some published sources like newspapers and books to make the article better. Gmcssb (talk) 04:05, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the minimum required references. Clearly, a major kannada author is notable. vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki (talk) 18:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody is debating the subject is not notable. The articles need to conform to Wikipedia policies that's it else they can be deleted. Gmcssb (talk) 04:05, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

Please stop adding external links.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 01:53, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand. Yehudi Menuhin contains links his performances. Why this objection here? Also why do you keep deleting the link to the TV interview which provides a good reference for understanding the subject better. vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki (talk) 02:03, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the policies, especially WP:PRIMARY and you will understand. Gmcssb (talk) 04:05, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I understand that I am speaking to a culturally ignorant person who cannot even comprehend the language(s) the subject performs/ composes in - please correct me if I am wrong. vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki (talk) 02:03, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You need to review the Wikipedia guidelines about what constitutes a reliable source, the external link guidelines, and our copyright guidelines (and a quick view of WP:NPA might be in order as well). -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:25, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki, Wikipedia has a policy of no personal attacks, please read WP:NPA. There is no need of words like culturally ignorant in this discussion. TheRedPenOfDoom is right, the article badly needs reliable third-party references. Gmcssb (talk) 04:05, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just to clarify, I was not making a personal attack. Just checking what the gentleman knew about the subject's art-form for the purpose of discussing the article (motivated by some bizzare misunderstandings about the material I was using - such as the 'personal blog' comment). I am ignorant of Swahili culture - that is not at all a shameful thing for me; I don't see why similar admissions should be difficult for others. In any case I suppose this is moot now that others have improved the article. vishvAs Iyengar vAsuki (talk) 17:09, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Source[edit]

Can we use information from this source?[2]Rayabhari (talk) 15:34, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's clearly an article published by Suryaprakash Pandit in some newspaper or magazine or book, but I think we ought to make clear the publication history first before using it... as it is, it now seems an article on a website instead of a published source. :( 59.92.151.168 (talk) 12:07, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
