Existence[edit]

I'm sure 'Shanghainese' exists as a (nebulous) ethnicity within the Han but, without more discussion (and sourcing) for their culture, it may be better to merge and redirect this to demographics of Shanghai, the same way New Yorkers is set up. I did what I could, but there's still not much here. — LlywelynII 14:12, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference?

Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

I find that the sources that were used in the writing of this entry were wholly inadequate, in both amount and timeliness. A single Time magazine article from the year 1997 does not fit the definition of "adequate." A more prolific, up-to-date compilation of sources is an absolute necessity for this entry to have even the most basic sense of credibility. Barely any of the information in this entry is even cited in the first place.
