Shiki Fuin[edit]

In the anime (episode 72, at the very end), the Third Hokage says Shiki Fūjin instead of (what I assume is the databook entry) Shiki Fūin. That's probably why it keeps getting changed to the former version. --Pentasyllabic 05:20, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let's clear this issue once and for all. The name the databook, the manga, and the anime give for the seal in question is 屍鬼封尽.
屍 【し】 (Shi) "Corpse" (Used by Kishimoto to also mean "Death," or "Dead")
鬼 【き】 (Ki) "Demon," "Devil"
封 【ふう】 (Fū) "Seal"
尽 【じん】 (Jin) "Exhaust," "Consume"
"Fuujin" (封尽) is also used in the Akatsuki's demon-extracting seal. It probably means something like "A seal that consumes the life of the victim and/or the user". I.e. a "Consuming Seal". Fūin (A normal "Seal") would be written as 封印.
So a good translation would be "Dead Demon Consuming Seal," or "Corpse Demon Consuming Seal".
I hope that helpes ^^ --JadziaLover 14:16, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think "Shinigami" should be placed here. This jutsu summons Emma-O, not a shinigami. There is not only a distinct different, but historical and cultural precidense for one (where-as Shinigami have as much cultural precidence in Japanese faith as Jedi in Catholicism). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 134.71.140.168 (talk) 12:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

X-Rank???[edit]

Could anyone tell me where Akatsuki's Genryu Kyu Fujin is stated as X-Rank? I've never seen this rank before.--ren 00:03, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find any evidence of an X-rank existing, and therefore I changed it to S-rank. If anyone can justify the existence of an X-rank, I'll happily change it back. Blademaster313 22:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
x-ranked jutsu are jutsu only kage are allowed to use and are just as strong as s-ranked jutsu and just as dangerous.--Geterdone 12:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Theres no such thing as X-Rank, and even if it's just as strong and just as dangerous your basically saying it's the same thing anyways.

Vortex Wormhole[edit]

Is there any credibility to this? And I realize the movie isn't very canon, but in (or rather it's mentioned in) the second movie they do seal a black hole. Unless there is some other more canon source to this.

  • The only things that can't be sealed are wormholes, vortexes, etc.

Dead Demon Consuming seal[edit]

It states in this article that "the Death God devours them both, locking the two souls in an eternal battle and preventing any possible resurrection." If this is true then why was orochimaru able or almost able to summon the 4th in the kage level battle between the 3rd and orochimaru. Does it have somthing to do with the 4th sealing the kyubi in Naruto instead of himself? I havent read all the data books so if someone could shed some light on the subject or if it still hasnt been revealed yet I would greatly appreciat it.BLaCk 22:32, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just point out that in the manga, the symbol on the third coffin is never shown, and while it stands to reason that it was that of the Fourth Hokage, this could just be a bad assumption made on the anime's part. If it wasn't him, that would put all discrepancies to rest. If it was, then I don't know how to explain it without venturing too far into the realm of "what if". ~SnapperTo 23:47, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And another thing, why didn't the Third Hokage seal Orochimaru's HEAD? he would die regardless of the soul being in his body. Sure, someone ressurecting Orochimaru can make him use jutsu, but Orochimaru is still dead!

I think pulling out his head would use to mutch energi, and that third thought that been unable to use any jutsu would be a good punishment for Orochi.Jacce 17:40, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it the third hokage sealed Orochimaru's arms because (if you look closely at the anime's last shot before the third sealed Oro's arms) the death god's hand got hold of Oro's hand (not his head). The third hokage chose not to let go of oro's had in order to hold his head, knowing that doing so would let oro escape unharmed, given the third's condition. However, unable to pull out any more part of oro's soul and too weak from his injuries, the third used the last of his strength to cut off and seal oro's arms. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carlo alvares (talkcontribs) 01:28, 30 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

==Gogyo Fuin==[edit]

(too lazy to put in accented letters) This used to be Gokkyo Fuin, but it changed now. Which one is it? —Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 02:28, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning About Posible Deletion[edit]

As another article like this one was deleted recently, and the people involved said that this one was high on their list of priorities, I don't think it would be a bad idea for someone to back up the page to get it ready for moving to a Wikia, just in case is DOES get deleted by the "crufters", as I've taken to calling them. Subdue Pic[edit]

Have two pictures of the subdue seal, [[1]] [[2]], wondering which is best. Please voice opinions. Lascoden 09:58, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's just a piece of paper. It doesn't need an image. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 10:11, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Five Seal Barrier[edit]

I was under the impression that the clones after the removal of the seals were merely an additional trap set by Akatsuki. When Neji remarks on the situation, he comments that the clones were part of the effort to "secure the barrier", thus implying that they are not a direct part of the jutsu itself. Correct me if I'm wrong however. Sephiroth BCR 21:59, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
