International mile[edit]

The English mile is referred to as the "international mile". How international is this mile to be called such?

Danish mile[edit]

Hi. A dansk mil (Danish mile) is not the same as a Swedish or Norwegian mile.

1 dansk mil = c. 7.5 kilometres.

Misleading title[edit]

Why is this page called "Scandianian" when Scandinavia is made up of three countries and one of them doesn't use it this unit and never did? This is the Swedish mile that was introduced in Norway during the Swedish-Norwegian union. The Danish mile has consistently been c. 7.5 km and it was codified as the equivalent of 7.532 meters by Ole Rømer, this was codified by Christian V of Denmark and Rømer used that unit to measure any major road in Denmark. The Danish mile only disappeared in the early 20th century with the introduction of the metric system. 80.62.29.143 (talk) 20:42, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
