End of SWE[edit]

I see that G.-M._Cupertino has changed the dates for this country's existence from 1809-1920 to 1809-1918. 1918 was when the Grand Duchy was abolished; but Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach continued to exist, I guess as a republic, until it was merged into Thuringia in 1920. The article is about the country, not the Grand Duchy - so I propose changing the end date back to 1920. Maproom (talk) 16:04, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Flag[edit]

The flag currently displayed shows a a horizontal tricolour of black-green-yellow. This pattern is mentioned in the African National Congress article as being the flag of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach from 1813-1897. Flags Of The World states: "The tricolour was black over green over yellow from 1813 until 1897 and black over yellow over green from 1897 until 1918. Source: Jens Hild: "Einführung der 'sächsischen Dreifarb' vor 200 Jahren" (Introduction of the Saxonian Tricolour 200 years ago); published in "Der Flaggenkurier" no.38; Berlin 2013; pp.35-36 [1] Suggest either altering the text underneath the flag to reflect the dates that specific pattern was used, or update the flag to the later version of black-yellow-green. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdarcyflynn (talkcontribs) 21:58, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since the file (image) of the flag in Commons also gives the dates 1813-1897, I changed the caption in the article to reflect those dates. - Donald Albury 22:06, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
