I would like to propose that Sermonum liber primus and Sermonum liber secundus be merged under a more appropriate title. Though the two books differ somewhat in content and approach, they are generally thought of as a single collection, representing Horace's work in the genre of satire. The scant information of the latter article could easily be folded into the first.
The present title is problematic. Though the generic sermonum liber primus (“first book of conversations”) most often refers to Horace, it is ambiguous and could just as easily apply to other works. The Oxford Classical Dictionary, the standard English language reference on the Classical world, calls them the "Satires", as does the Loeb Classical Library. Scholars cite these works as either Satirae or Sermones. The "sermonum liber" titles used on Wikipedia are idiosyncratic. Better options might include Satirae (Horace) on the model of Odes (Horace) or Satires of Horace after Satires of Juvenal. Comments? Camenae (talk) 16:17, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The descriptions of Satires 1.1-1.10 in this article are very handy, but where is that material for Book 2?
