Ward 5B/5A[edit]

This article references a ward 86 in relation to HIV/AIDS. However in the documentary We Were Here, they say that 5B was the first AIDS ward in the world, and then later it was moved to 5A. Is 86 a separate ward, or a renumbered ward? It didn't come up at all in the film. 24.57.210.141 (talk) 03:43, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

COI[edit]

A major contributor to this page, User:SFGHDeansOffice has a user name which leads me to believe that he or she is associated with San Francisco General Hospital. They haven't posted since August, but their edits are a conflict of interest. Paris1127 (talk) 21:48, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... indeed, it looks like at least the entire section on the Kahlo/Rivera paintings is a direct copy and paste from the UCSF web page on the topic: https://sfgh.ucsf.edu/frida-kahlo-diego-rivera-sfgh

I'm not sure the copyright status of that (it may be public domain as a government work), but in any case it's probably not good practice for the encyclopedia. Name and renaming of Hospital[edit]

WP's policy on what names are used for articles about corporations states that "Whenever possible, common usage is preferred". Well, "San Francisco General Hospital" has existed under that name for over 150 years, and to the City's current 800,000 residents, that is its name. No one other than Zuckerberg and some of the administrators at the Hospital refer to it as the "Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital". As it currently is listed, it just causes confusion amongst WP users. Consequently, unless someone can justify the deviation from WP's policy, I'm going to revert the title of the article back to "San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center". As per WP:NCCORP -- "Regardless of the article title, the first sentence of the article should normally begin with the full legal name of the company, so the first sentence in the article will show the full name.
