Single?[edit]
"Despite never being released as a single... As of 2009 the single has sold 143,000 copies" – despite X not existing, X has sold 143,000 copies? I suspect the dissonance is the old-fashioned idea of a single versus the reality of people just buying whichever songs they want from an album; if so then would switching to "As of 2009 the **song** has sold..." be appropriate? — 64.245.141.66 (talk) 15:22, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- have reworded to read: "Despite having never been officially released as a single,..", as i believe this is useful for readers. Coolabahapple (talk) 02:15, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Is it really about Delilah or her servant?[edit]
There's a really good alternate interpretation for this that it is sung from the point of view of Delilah's servant, who was the one who actually cut Samson's hair. The idea is that she loved Samson first, and this fits in with the lyrics as well as the fact that she is never named in the Bible. 66.193.250.11 (talk) 01:28, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
