Where are the references concerning attributes?

Coercivity =[edit]

The coercivity section here is really generic for magnetic materials, and in some respects is actively wrong. Domain wall pinning is extremely important in Samarium Cobalt 1:5 series, as are the Non-Matrix crystalline phases. someone needs to rewrite.

Units[edit]

People working in magnetism are a little bit old fashioned (like in astronomy), but even magnetism should finally arrive in the times of SI: the unit for magnetic field is A/m and the unit for flux is T such that the energy (density) product is VAs/m^3=J/m^3 Mikuszefski (talk) 13:24, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Radioactive?[edit]

Is SmCo5 radioactive? I know that cobalt is radioactive, but does it stay that way when combined with samarium? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.214.104.203 (talk) 02:05, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cobalt-59 is stable. If you use a radioactive isotope, all alloys and compounds will be radioactive.—Dah31 (talk) 03:19, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem[edit]

I found almost identical text to this article on two external web sites with the following copyright notices:

Neither website refers to Wikipedia or the CC BY-SA 3.0 License.

Looking at the editing history of the article, I see several paragraphs contributed by User:Chrisn90274 in December 2007, in a single edit.

The article was created April 9, 2005. A paragraph of the questionable text first appeared in Wikipedia December 30, 2007. Since then, several editors have made five minor changes were made to the paragraph. On June 2, 2009, a hyphen was changed to an en dash. The magnet vendor's web site still has a hyphen. In my opinion, the vendor copied the wikipedia page sometime before December 30, 2007, and applied their own copyright notice in contravention of the CC BY-SA license.

This material is manipulated[edit]

I have been trying to grind SmCo5. Its impossible. Although it looks metal it is like cement. If u try drill a hole or enlarge a hole it gnarves and breaks apart. Mechanic weardown within minutes.

It cannot be that difficult to produce a usable alloy of 2 completely 3valued elements mixture 1/6Sm 5/6 Co to Unitcrystal or aligned directed polycrystal material by thermal gradients.

  1. dont buy that unless u melt it yourself.
