Q: Why is Harris called a philosopher or neuroscientist in this article? I don't think he is one.
A: To maintain a neutral point of view, Wikipedia labels and describes subjects as they are commonly described by reliable sources. Harris is commonly described as an author, philosopher, neuroscientist, etc., by scholars and journalists alike, in academic and popular sources. This has been frequently discussed (e.g. 1, 2 3, 4, 5, 6). A 2014 Request for Comment established consensus to use "philosopher" as a descriptor.
