Clean-up details[edit]

I'm pretty sure I saw facts repeated two or three times more than they needed to be, especially the geographic ones. It wouldn't be a bad idea to double/triple-check the numbers, just to make sure they're up-to-date. The county officials list NEEDS updating, but I don't have the final results of the other day's election in my hands yet, so I'll come back later with that. Finally, I'm fairly certain I saw a bunch of POV stuff that could use fixing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't a Board of Tourism, it's an Encyclopedia. ...and sorry if I'm harsh. I live here, which means of course I'm harsh on it. :P Kell 07:02, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeap, this article has a case of "brochure-itis". Stevie is the man! TalkWork 21:16, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Made substantial edits to remove all duplicated statistical data, and/or repositioned said data to the city summary section. Removed "brochure-itis" commentary, and performed substantial editorial clean-up of remaining sections. Fixed political entries with all information currently available from the city's Web site. Re-ordered information as necessary so as to offer more logical flow to the reader. Added a photo of "Riley's Place" to WikiMedia Commons, and linked same to this article. Updated external links. Where did the population of the city go? I will check on the census buera website and add the population. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.105.45.146 (talk) 05:50, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notable people[edit]

I deleted Sarah Parke Morrison from this section because there is no article in Wikopedia for her as is the guideline for Notable people. I listed her information below in the event an editor created a article for her. "Sarah Parke Morrison, the first female to be admitted and graduate from nearby Indiana Univeristy Bloomington, was born and raised in Salem, Indiana. In 1873, she also became IU's first female professor." Thank you--BuzyBody (talk) 19:59, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
