Hmm[edit]

The movie that is listed as appearing _in_ the movie was released 3 years later (1991) than Salaam Bombay, at least according to Wikipedia. Hmm.

Similarity with Midnight Cowboy[edit]

Has Mira Nair mentioned this somewhere ?  Jon Ascton  (talk)

Hopefulness?[edit]

I removed the following line:

Despite the movie's often dark subject matter, Salaam Bombay! is ultimately a tale of hope and perseverance.

It's my opinion, but I think that the ending, which saw an innocent child killing a pimp, signaling his inability to escape the cycle of poverty and crime. I didn't see any hope or perseverance. --Anon. 04:20, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
