"Any visitor to Finland is advised to try Ruispalt with Oltermanni cheese, with maybe some Turku mustard to taste."

I think this simply isn't true. While rye bread in general might be something that Finns offer to visitors, I have never heard of Ruispalat-Oltermanni-mustard specifically being an combination offered to foreigners. And I think eating ruispalat especially with Oltermanni and Turun Sinappi isn't really that common that it should be mentioned here. I would therefore remove the cheese-mustard mention untill there's some reference for this.

And I think the current article name is simply wrong. Ruispalat means rye bread like this: http://www.vaasan.com/public/fi/06_uutiset/01_arkisto/ruispalat_lasi.jpg

Even the name "ruispalat" means "rye pieces", referring to the breads being in slices and pieces in size ready for eating.

The bread description in the article is not known as ruispalat, but rather as "reikäleipä" (meaning "hole bread"). The name is obvious, as reikäleipä looks like this: http://www.ristopeltolanleipomo.fi/gfx/leivat/iso_reika.gif

Generally Finland has several kinds of rye breads, and ruispalat is just one of them. Reikäleipä, ruislimppu ( http://www.emilhalme.fi/images/Egna%20bilder/ruislimppu.jpg ) and näkkileipä are others.

Now that I think of it, the entire article needs to be rewritten, or I would merge it with the rye bread article and detail the Finnish rye breads (together with other variants of rye bread) more in that article.

A few corrections[edit]

I added a few corrections but I think the article is still pretty abysmal. I don't know if I made it a lot better or clearer, but at least I removed some possbilities for misunderstanding.--Wormsie 07:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
