Contested deletionn is not appropriate!

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because it is about a real story by Roald Dahl. I was reading about Roald Dahl's short stories and clicked on the link to read about his story "Royal Jelly" but found that it was a dead link. So I decided to create a page about the short story myself. I am a new "Wikipedian" and have not cited my sources yet but please don't delete this page, as it is most certainly not "pure vandalism" or a "blatant hoax". In fact you can search up "Royal Jelly by Roald Dahl" on the Internet and you will see I have an accurate summary. Thank you.

Chronology

The order in which this was written did make it sound like 1983 was the first publication, which isn't true.

The collection Kiss Kiss is from 1960, 20 years before the TV adaptation. But I'm not sure if that's the first place it appeared. The book only gives prior publication information for the 4 stories that had appeared in The New Yorker; the other 7, it doesn't say whether they're previously published or not. The Wikipedia article Kiss Kiss (book) says that "Most of the constituent stories had been previously published elsewhere." If that's correct, then some of those 7 must have been published somewhere else, which could include this one. I checked roalddahlfans.com, which doesn't list any magazine publications before the 1983 TZ one, but I don't know how authoritative that is, and it's also possible that it appeared in a multi-author anthology book that I don't know how to search for.

At any rate, I don't think we need to specify exactly when it was first published. Just reorganizing the sentence like this seem sufficient:

It was included in Dahl's books Kiss Kiss and Tales of the Unexpected, and later published as a standalone volume in 2011 and included in the February 1983 issue of Twilight Zone Magazine.

On looking at the articles for some of the other stories from Kiss Kiss, most of them note that it's a 1960 collection, even if they don't clarify whether that was the first publication. So, I'll add that here as well. --157.131.246.136 (talk) 20:37, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
