Requested move 12 January 2016[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved and replaced with a dab page. There is a consensus that the professor is not the primary topic, but not that the actor is, so we default to having a dab page. Most participants seemed OK with this outcome. I've also used "neurologist" as the dab rather than professor because that's a rarely used form of disambiguation and very vague. Jenks24 (talk) 09:32, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rohit BakshiRohit Bakshi (Professor) – if you search for Rohit Bakshi on Google then it will show about Rohit Bakshi indian actor not about this professor. Rohit Bakshi actor is more popular than this person so i request you to move this article to its redirect page Rohit Bakshi (Professor) so that I can move my page Rohit Bakshi (Actor) to Rohit Bakshi Divya Thaakur (talk) 20:58, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - While I think it's fine to move this one as proposed, I think before you replace the primary page you need to show a bit more about why the actor is considered WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Otherwise, I would suggest this current name becomes the disambiguation page. 1bandsaw (talk) 18:11, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Search results of Rohit Bakshi by different search engines
1. Google https://www.google.co.in/m?q=rohit+Bakshi
2. Yahoo http://in.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/yhs/mobile/search?hspart=ucweb&hsimp=yhsm-inucbr_001&p=rohit+Bakshi
3.Youtube http://m.youtube.com/results?gl=IN&amp=&client=mv-google&amp=&hl=en-GB&amp=&submit=Search&q=rohit+Bakshi
All the search engines give results about Rohit Bakshi indian actor.they give priority to Rohit Bakshi indian actor other than Rohit Bakshi professor. Rohit Bakshi (actor) is qualified for Primary Topic.
So i request you to move this article Rohit Bakshi to its redirect Rohit Bakshi (Professor) and my article Rohit Bakshi (actor) to Rohit Bakshi with its edit history.

  • I'm not saying I disagree with you. I encourage you to follow the link I provided above to primary topic to see what kind of supporting information would more convincingly make your case. 1bandsaw (talk) 16:37, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rohit Bakshi (actor) is linked with more articles than Rohit Bakshi professor
So please move Rohit Bakshi to its redirect Rohit Bakshi (Professor) and Rohit Bakshi (actor) to Rohit Bakshi with its edit history. Divya Thaakur (talk) 10:40, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Pretty faces do get more online hits. An encyclopedia has other objectives. Am not satisfied with the arguments made as of now. Best would be to simply disambiguate both fellows with primary link being a disambiguation page. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:44, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • okk I am satisfied. first move Rohit Bakshi to its redirect Rohit Bakshi (Professor) than make it a disambiguate page. Divya Thaakur (talk) 05:36, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support moving Rohit Bakshi to Rohit Bakshi (Professor) - it started off there anyways, and was moved for lack of conflict. Now that the actor exists, there is a PRIMARY TOPIC concern. Depending on sources, you'll see different primary. As expected the professor has great gbook results, and moderate news. The actor has a lot of google results, but that is plagued with non-notable promotional sources. Leave the redirect in place after the move and then use hatnotes.
