Distributor dispute[edit]

NEON was the distributor for Robot Dreams in the United States, yet one user disputes this with the following:

"The film infobox is too small to reproduce the long lists of release dates provided by sources such as the Internet Movie Database. Release dates should therefore be restricted to the film's earliest release [... ]and the release date(s) in the countri(es) that produced the film. Using the same rationale as the release date, the distributor(s) should be restricted to to the country or countries that produced the film) "

Thoughts? Espngeek (talk) 22:19, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FILMDIST is pretty clear, there's no debate to be had. Nardog (talk) 21:56, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Espngeek: I don't think anybody disputes Neon being the North American/US distributor. It's just that there are Wikipedia infobox usage rationales (WP:FILMDIST and WP:FILMRELEASE) suggesting us against including details about the US release date or the US distribution in the infobox, given that the US is not one of the production countries of this film. You can add details about releases in countries other than the production countries in the body of the article, using third party sources establishing notability of such factoids. By the way, I don't think this film has had a theatrical release in the US so far.--Asqueladd (talk) 18:46, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
