Anti-semitism[edit]

Brown made some remarks about anti-Semitism and double standards, i.e., whether it's okay for the Old Testament prophets to criticize ancient Israel but "bad" for anyone else to.

His remarks shed light on the question of whether it is automatically anti-semitic for any contemporary person to criticize Israel, ancient or modern - or Jews (of any historical period).

I bring this up, because it's related to the Unification Church antisemitism controversy. A rabbi called Rev. Moon antisemitic for, e.g., calling Jews or Hebrews of the OT "faithless". And I was wondering if that meant there was a standard by which any blanket criticism means the speaker is antisemitic, or if it was just when the speaker is non-Jewish or something. --Uncle Ed (talk) 22:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
