Prostate cancer has affected the lives of many men yet unlike breast cancer in women, is virtually unmentioned by the media. Robert Goulet was a spokesperson for prostate cancer awareness and fact should be included in his bio. The following is an article written by Matthew Schmitz, M.D.:

Goulet was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1993 following a routine physical exam prior to the start of filming for a movie. During the digital rectal exam, his physician detected an abnormality and recommended a prostate biopsy. The biopsy came back positive and his diagnosis of prostate cancer was confirmed.

Goulet had no problems with urinating, pain, or any other symptoms prior to his diagnosis.

Within weeks, Goulet had chosen surgery (radical prostatectomy) for treatment of his prostate cancer.

Years later, while in Indiana to promote prostate cancer awareness, Goulet recounted that, within three weeks of his surgery, he was back on tour with the musical Camelot. His greatest fear at that point was urinary incontinence, especially on-stage. Luckily, this common side effect of surgery did not ultimately affect Goulet.

"Stanley Applebaum"[edit]

Are you sure he moved to Canada when he was three months old? The CBC website says he was in his early adolescence when he moved with his mother to Alberta. And the mention in this article that she was Jewish: the website says she was second-generation Franco-American. She could still have been Jewish, but it seems unlikely. Citizenship ----why?[edit]

The intro says Goulet spent his career in the United States and later took permanent residence there and became an American citizen. Why would he do this if he was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts as the next paragraph states? Very confusing, and needs explanation. He was never a Canadian citizen. He was born an American citizen and remained one his entire life. The person who wrote that he "became" an American citizen really has no business posting anything, as his "information" is nonsensical.(Yakofujimato (talk) 07:24, 23 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Robert was A Candian Citizen and only went ot the US because he was not able to further his career in Canada. He did not have to become and American Citizen he was one by birth. He was also a Canadian Citizen through his father. He had the best of both Worlds. Come and go to either Country he wanted too. He also had a residence he maintained in Montreal,Canada.

muddled statement[edit]

His first non-singing role was in Honeymoon Hotel (1964), but it was not until a cameo appearance as "Himself", a singer in Louis Malle's film, Atlantic City (1980).

Can anyone figure out what this is trying to say? What was "not until"?

Formative years[edit]

The article claims he lived in the USA till (after?) he was 13. It then makes the awkward claim he went on to spend his "formative years" in Canada. I don't know of ANY child development authority who claims that personality and behavior aren't largely FIXED by age 13. Aside from that error, the term has no clear meaning - just how long did he reside there?
