What did Engineers from Ripley do?[edit]

More than half of the intro, which is supposed to summarise the article, reads "Engineers from Ripley came up with some early improvements to the railway system." This isn't really a very grown-up piece of writing, but can we be told what these were? Making the trains run on time? Or was that Mussolini? Afterbrunel (talk) 14:55, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed many of these locality articles from my watchlist (this one got away) but the incumbent editor changed the lede soon after re-instating the American 'zee' I removed.....(has been inactive for a few months).--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 02:43, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to mention that 'Brian' added the 'zee' from 's' in this 2020 change ('s' survived since April 2015). Bit of ownership going on.....I did it my way, never mind changing varieties unnecessarily....--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 03:09, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
