Untitled[edit]

I am the author of this article both here and in its original location at http://www.mamdom.com/aboutpolishhouses.php. The Wikipedia Bot believes I am infringing my own copyright but how can I be?

Have you read WP:COPYREQ#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries ? Following the guidelines there will be in the best interest of everyone. Ivansanchez 15:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I have read it now. Do I understand that I should simply send an email to the communications committee confirming I am the original author and I am happy for the work to be reproduced on Wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.7.49.189 (talk) 15:34, August 27, 2007 (UTC) Polishbook 15:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's right. Either do that, or put the entire webpage (www.mamdom.com) contents under a GFDL license (i.e. change the terms of use of your webpage, point four). Also, edit your use page (not your user talk page) to reflect that you're in fact the original author of that webpage, and that you've sent the e-mail; fellow wikipedians, upon seeing that user page, won't mark anything you contribute as a copyvio. An email has been sent to to the Wikimedia Communications committee confirming I am the author and copyright holder of the material.Polishbook 16:10, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As you may have seen, I've removed the notices about copyright violations on the article. Feel free to edit.
(And excuse me for supposing a copyright violation - wikipedia has to be very careful about copyright infringements, or the legal costs for keeping it alive would skyrocket)
Thanks, Ivansanchez 16:16, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article name, categorizing[edit]

I suggest that the article should be moved to "Polish housing style" - "About polish houses" does not seem a title for an encyclopedia article. Also, this should need linking from List of house styles and/or list of house types and/or Architectural style. Hint for polishbook: the guys at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Architecture will surely able to help you out, and give hints on how to categorize and link this article. Advertising[edit]

It's rather obvious that this article is an attempt to advertise the estate agent website in question. It should either be deketed or remade into an article about polish architectural history, which I suspect is more effort than anybody is prepared to do. --OpenFuture (talk) 04:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article does have some merit, and covers relevant matters. There is no comparable article which I have found in Polish Wikipedia. It is a mistake to think (as many people seem to do) that Housing is the same subject as Architecture. If the article is to be improved it should not go in that direction, but take a broader view of housing in Poland. Chrisemms (talk) 12:59, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That would be "Housing in Poland" which is a completely different subject, and not related to the architecture but rather standards, laws and usage. --OpenFuture (talk) 18:20, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The name - still problematic[edit]

The name has been criticized and changed since the very beginning.

  • There is only one similar name (about Historic Cairo).
  • The lead should be written.Xx236 (talk) 07:22, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
