Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republican Views[edit]

Early Chinese primitive religions had gods such as God, Four Mountains, Ancestors, etc. Religious Confucianism acknowledged the existence of gods and ghosts, but did not care about the affairs of their world, but focused entirely on the real world. Zuo Qiu Ming of Confucianism Zuo Zhuan says that "Gods are not blessed". "According to the Confucian view of history, the gods are not the rulers of the earthly events such as wars, national development or failure. However, according to the excavated archaeological materials of the Jin culture, the policies and social ideology of King Wen and King Wu of Zhou were very different from the "Way of the First King" advocated by Confucianism, which was actually more like a philosophy based on the Western Zhou, which was based on the ideal model of early and mid-century society. After Han Wu Di, Religious Confucianism and other schools of thought combined to produce individual rituals of primitive Chinese religions, such as the worship of heaven and earth, Confucius, and ancestors. Although Religious Confucianism is very different from the Abrahamic religions, there is no doubt that Religious Confucianism is a very different religion from the Abrahamic religions. Religious Confucianism is undoubtedly one of the most important ideology in ancient East Asia, although it differs greatly from Abrahamic religions.[citation needed] Immanuelle 💗 (please tag me) 07:46, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I feel some of the elements may be questionable. At the very least organization is bad. Some elements such as the Jade Emperor are of unclear significance to Religious Confucianism. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 07:19, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ci Shrine and Miao Shrine may be too generically Chinese folk religion Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 07:20, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Trimming the article[edit]

There’s been an overly detailed template here for a long time. How can we trim this article? Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 15:38, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

Only the section Views on whether Confucianism is a religion is translated so the template is a bit misleading. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 03:40, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
