Talk:Reebok Pump

Am contemplating buying Reebok pump for my morning jogs ! I tried it out yesterday, and the shoes look really good, and more than the looks, the feel good factor is mind blowing !

But, before going in for the buy @ Rs.6450, I thought it would be best to check out Nike, to see what they have.

Although, I did try out Nike Air and was not too happy with it, especially coz, it's very pricy but doesn't give you that kinda feel good factor.

Am I on the right track ? or is there a different opinion as well ?

Blacktops[edit]

How does this article not mention the word BLACKTOPS once? They were the ultimate status-quo in 91! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.129.98.129 (talk) 02:27, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Really the first "pump shoe"?[edit]

I remember the Lowa Air, from my childhood days - mid-80s, I'd say. The first model had a separate pump, and I still own a later model with integrated pumps (it has two separate "air bags" per shoe, therefore two pumps per shoe). The air cushions were meant to optimize the fitting of the shoes. Yup, Lowa is best known for ski shoes, and the Lowa air was a ski shoe as well, so it wasn't ever a "status symbol on the basketball court" ;-) --80.134.18.126 (talk) 12:33, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other competitors[edit]

At least one other competing design was out there, made by a bargain brand called Voit; they were sold at places like Wal-Mart as a budget alternative to Reebok's offerings, and were - not surprisingly - found to be infringing on the Pump design:
