Canada[edit]

The medal proposed to be awarded in Alberta will, according to the text of Bill 1, be conferred by the Minister (as that term is defined in law). It cannot be said to be presented, as is currently stated in the infobox, by the monarch of Canada, although it is possible that the Government of Canada could advise that provincial commemorative medals be added to the Canadian order of precedence (decorations and medals). Different versions or different medals[edit]

Like the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal article, and probably others, this article treats the medals awarded in different places as different versions of the same medal. Is this right? They have different engravings, different ribbons and different criteria. What is the justification for saying they are different versions, rather than simply what they appear to be: different medals, awarded by different countries, which just happen to have the same name because they are all issued to commemorate the same thing? Australia[edit]

Where is the source for the existence of an Australian platinum jubilee medal? The two cites next to "Living individual recipients of the Victoria Cross and George Cross" don't even support that information, let alone mention anything about an Australian PJM. Here's a cite mentioning the awarding of the British medal to holders of the Victoria Cross and George Cross. That doesn't, though, indicate it's the monarch of Australia giving the PJM. -- MIESIANIACAL 02:35, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@AviationEnzo:, you're making a claim it's the Australian monarch who also bestows the award. Ya gotta back it up. GoodDay (talk) 02:56, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed Australia's entry, as the opposing editor has apparently chosen not to engage in discussion 'here', on the matter. GoodDay (talk) 14:59, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
