i'd like to add that i don't find this dish to be at all similar to stamppot, stoemp, colcannon, bubble & squeak or the likes, because the mashed potato base is integral to the texture of those dishes. (it does look lovely, however)--77.166.200.185 (talk) 20:52, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to add my opinion even if my english is not perfect. Pyttipanna dont have to be diced. Its only the pyttipanna you buy deepfrozen that is diced. Pytt i panne (roughly "put into [the frying] pan", where "pytt" really means small things or peaces, but is used as a pun for "putt", i.e. put), as it's known as in Norway, is the same as the Swedish dish. --Kebman (talk) 22:52, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Odd image[edit]

I've been eating pyttipanna/-u/-e for half a century, but I don't recall ever having had green beans, peas or sweetcorn in it. I think the currently used main image is therefore unrepresentative, and even misleading.
