Using it more safely[edit]

With all the warnings about using too much and not drinking enough water it's worth mentioning that using Miralax with psyllium is safer than psyllium alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.254.113.177 (talk) 03:49, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This page is somewhat redundant[edit]

There's already a page on Isabgol, which is the same thing as psylliumscotteaux (talk) 14:26, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hype?[edit]

Quote: "Sometimes they are combined with clay as a detoxification drink"

With language like that, the whole article becomes suspect. There is hardly any proof for this product's claims, except perhaps as a bulk laxative.Ykral (talk) 10:53, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The above quote relates to how some people choose to use this product which seems to me to be a social and/or anthropological statement.

Perhaps a more accurate and neutral statement might be:

"Some people consume a combination of Psyllium seed husks and clay which they believe to have detoxification properties."

Also this statement might be best put in a section labeled something like "Non Medicinal Uses" which could house all internal, external, and other uses of this product which are not backed by traditional medical science and/or research. Donarnold (talk) 14:48, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
