I started working on this article as a result of my involvement in the drafting of the article on the Austrian Civil War, which links to this article here.

In the following, a few comments on the changes I made:

I believe it is important to incorporate information on the status quo in the introductory paragraph. Up-to-dateness is one of the most important qualities of Wikipedia. And casual readers might only read the overview - we want them to get the real gist of the whole article (Oh my god, am I sounding patronizing today ;))

I kept to the original author's decision to use the present tense when talking about Proporz (arguably the system still exists to some extent). However, if the present tense is used in the introductory paragraph, it also has to be used on later in the text, for consistency's sake. E.g. 'Proporz is a long standing doctrine' -> 'Under the Proporz system, the posts of Cabinet ministers are filled by'...

I deleted Credit-Anstalt from the 'See also' section. It features neither in the text (at least not explicitly), nor does an article on Credit-Anstalt even exist...

In addition, I expanded the article quite a bit - I tried to keep most, if not all of the information of the previous version - though at times in a rephrased fashion.

I corrected inaccuracies, such as that Haider 'resigned' - as he was never a member of the first black-blue coalition he couldn't resign.
