Plot[edit]

What is the policy regarding the amount of information posted for plot content. Nothing says this needs to be spoiler-free...but what of consistency?

Jonsoh (talk) 01:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't need to be spoiler-free, but it can't be a game guide, it's just meant to be a quick summary of the game, not a step-by-step recreration of everything that happens. No directly addressing the reader, either. Geoff B (talk) 01:19, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Raindrops23

I'm just trying to recount of what I played, I didn't mean it to be so detailed. Or not detailed enough, I was hoping if I put something out there that other people would be more likely to edit it and make things right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raindrops23 (talkcontribs) 02:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the plot to make it sound more like a synopsis. I hope you don't mind.  :) Tamakun (talk) 05:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just an anonymous comment, but isn't over 10 paragraphs detailing the plot with minute precision not exactly normal on Wikipedia? I'd think maybe a paragraph at most. This isn't GameFAQs, y'know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.215.107.250 (talk) 21:26, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't the plot have a spoiler warning around it? The game is essentially a mystery case, and the page is detailing the ending. I understand the no spoiler-free thing, but shouldn't there at least be a warning? -- Tustin2121 (talk) 06:04, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People should have the common sense not to a read the section labeled "Plot" if they don't want to know the plot.—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 06:11, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

release dates for NA and Europe[edit]

I haven't been able to find any plans for releasing this game in NA or Europe. If we can't find a reference, I suggest the "TBA" release dates be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.139.184.15 (talk) 15:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Laytonbox.jpg[edit]

Image:Laytonbox.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

English Title of Japanese Game[edit]

不思議な町 literally means 'strange/ mysterious town', and not 'villa', which is a type of house. I can see why this may be used for the English title of the Japanese version, as some of the plot revolves around the goings on in the manor house, but it is not a literal translation of the Japanese, so I have changed the wording in the introduction.Porridgebowl (talk) 09:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC) Does anybody have physical proof that this is the official English title? The words appear in the game, but after a thorough search for Level-5's stance, there doesn't seem to be an official English title. This page seems to be the source for other pages that use the phrase, and "professor layton and the arcane villa" only gets 84 hits in Google. In contrast "Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village", a far better translation, gets 38,000 hits.Porridgebowl (talk) 02:26, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Release dates for the upcoming games?[edit]

Is anyone able to find the release dates for the next two Professor Layton games? I've tried to find out but I end up being linked to Japanese sites... Pheebalicious (talk) 15:31, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ROM size[edit]

If I'm not wrong, in the US version the ROM weights 64MB but in the European version it weights 128MB. The article only says 128MB. What's the source for that?--Jim88Argentina (talk) 19:02, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gameplay[edit]

The secret code for the hidden door is available on the net, in advance of the sequel, being 7E7F2G5F. Labour Lawyer (talk) 20:56, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boxart[edit]

I dont know why the European boxart is shown. The game was first released in North America, and all the other Layton pages feature the North American boxart. I'm not trying to be US-centric, but I think that consistancy between the articles is important. If someone could please find the North American boxart and post it, it would be much appreciated. AlexanderLD (talk) 16:51, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Changed it.Link Floyd (talk) 03:52, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Version differences[edit]

Is it notable that, at least between the US/UK versions, there are definite differences between puzzles? 145.100.125.133 (talk) 10:00, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
