The Peerage web site by Darryl Lundy[edit]

Peerage.com is not a reliable source. However Darryl Lundy usually cites his sources and they are often but not always reliable sources. There is no evidence that Lundy is not honest so it is possible to use his site under WP:SAYWHEREYOUREADIT providing the site that he cites is a Wikipedia reliable site. However with this article we have a problem:

The first inline is a Lundy article which relies on one reliable source and two unreliable sources (one of them Wikipedia! and the other an email):

The only fact that is supported by [S16] is "Karl Prinz von Bayern", the rest either relies on the reliable source in conjunction with this article or the email, or on this article or the email.

The second inline citation is a Lundy article that relies on two of the same sources as the first one:

Unfortunately the only fact that is not supported by both citations or the unreliable one is "She gained the title of Baronin von Bayerstorff".

The third inline citation is to the three children linked from the Lundy page above "Marie-Anne-Sophie Baronin von Bayerstorff" all rely on the unreliable source of the previously mentioned email.

The result is that most of this article is built on sand. The only two facts that can be stated with reliable sources to back them up is

Karl Prinz von Bayern (Louda & MacLagan 1999, Table 97)
[Marie-Anne-Sophie Baronin von Bayerstorff] gained the title of Baronin von Bayerstorff.(Louda & MacLagan 1999, Table 97)

None of the rest of the information in the article has its origins in a reliable source. So I am going to remove the article and replace it with text copied from The American Cyclopædia (1879) -- PBS (talk) 21:09, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
