Note on species[edit]

I've tried to find a few more sources on this species to expand the article a bit, but I'm finding that many of the sources actually refer to poromitra curliensis, not poromitra crassiceps. Both are called crested bigscales, and poromitra curliensis had previously been mis-identified as poromitra crassiceps. Crassiceps is found exclusively in the atlantic ocean, so note sources which mention crassiceps in the pacific as likely referring to curliensis. 0x0077BE (talk) 17:46, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the genus Poromita has been recently revised in a series of 6 papers by Kotlyar. You can probably find clarity in those papers, and/or find summarized info on name changes or synonymy through databases like WoRMS and the Catalog of Fishes as well as FishBase --Animalparty-- (talk) 21:46, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
