Piae Cantiones - Pious Songs[edit]

Does the title, Piae Cantiones, mean Pious Songs? I see that the word "Devout" is used in the translation. Ileanadu (talk) 18:45, 9 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A facsimile copy of Piae Cantiones (Edition Fazer, Helsinki 1967) translates the full title as Pious Church and School Songs of the Ancient Bishops. A Latin dictionary translates piaetas thus "piety; dutifulness; affection, love; loyalty, gratitude". I mean, both words mean essentially the same thing, but it may as well go with the word it's derived from. Rob (talk) 19:50, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could we have a list of titles of the songs contained in this text? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.89.176.249 (talk) 02:36, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
