Ryan's EOSC 475 Peer Review[edit]

Overall, I can understand main point of the article and what Phycocyanin does, but there are certain parts, such as in "Biosynthesis", where it was too wordy and does not seem like an average wiki user could understand. Also, some more links to other wikipedia articles will help readers understand.

Introduction:

  • First paragraph: Please define what phycocyanin C and R are, as there does not seem to be anything on it in the introduction
  • Should remove or reword "depending on which specific type it is"
  • Consistency with Phycocyanin C or C-Phycocyanin (are those the same protein?)
  • Second paragraph: Add a link to the tetrapyrrole and chromophore wikipedia pages
  • Third Paragraph: Should be In vitro instead of invitro and is there any way that the last few sentences can flow better?

Body of the article:

  • The abbreviation C-PC should be defined sooner in the article. It is defined "Advances in Biotechnology", but the abbreviation shows up sooner in "Ecological Relevance" and "Biosynthesis".
  • Is there more information in the literature to complete the chart in "Spectral characteristics"?
  • Mixotrophy could be linked to another wikipedia article and does not need to be explained too much
  • Improperly cited articles in the "Food" subsection - references are not in the "References" section
  • Should be genetic engineering instead of gene engineering in "Ecological Relevance"
  • Italicize bacteria species (ex: Anabaena, E. coli)
  • The link for reference 6 is not working

The "Applications in Biotechnology" section was interesting and I would like to see that section expanded on more.

Jane - peer review

Your page is well done. It is a quite technical and detailed but easy to read. I personally like that you have linked most of the difficult terms to other wiki pages, especially in in the first paragraph. The diagrams are appropriate and fitting. Something that could be improved perhaps is the 'Biosynthesis' section; the paragraph isn't visibly cited and has no external links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shimkenya (talkcontribs) 07:22, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
