Lack of sources in the article[edit]

This is at present a remarkably scant article on a versatile and well-known artist. There are plenty of sources available:

Gubernatorial run[edit]

"In 2006 Legere attempted to run for governor of New York as a candidate of the Integrity Party (New York American Reform Party affiliate). Legere and the Integrity Party failed to qualify for the November ballot." This happened, but at this point it looks like it might be hard to come by reliable sources online. Can anybody find any? I dug into it and found a reliable source that shows you are correct. However, seven years after your comment, the Integrity Party (as part of the American Reform Party) appears to have completely changed viewpoint, and become a right-wing organization that consistently supports Republicans who want to cut all funding to the arts and do not support Native American, LGBT, female, or basic human rights. This does not seem consistent with the public viewpoints of the subject of this article, who has not changed viewpoints on those topics, so I decline to add this information to the article at this time per WP:NPOV as I update references on the main article. Discussion of David Bowie tour 1990 vs. 1991[edit]

There seems to be some confusion about the year in which the article's subject opened for David Bowie on his (US) national tour. Unfortunately, many sources on the internet that could be considered reliable secondary sources leave out either the year or the name of the tour or both, but some sites correlate both.

To clarify and keep this WP article geographically neutral, I added text to indicate that Ms. Legere opened on the US leg of Bowie's Sound+Vision Tour (which was a large international tour).

I've also changed the year back to 1990 (from 1991) in the main article. Many online articles conflict, so there are many potential references that could support an argument in favor of 1991. I believe this to be a generally repeated error. On Wikipedia, only material that has a secondary source that is considered a WP:RS can be used as a source in a < ref > tag to support a statement in an article about the subject, particularly one in a WP:BLP article.

Factually, I believe my edit is correct: it was both 1990 and it was during the Sound+Vision Tour. David Bowie's Sound+Vision Tour did not overlap 1991 or 1989 at all. In 1991, his tour was called the Tin Machine tour.

While there are examples to the contrary, these sources provide strong evidence for 1990:

1. An uninvolved person who has logged all his attended concerts (1984-2017) and was present for one of these concerts maintains a detailed website which lists Phoebe Legere as the opening act on 15 June 1990 at the New World Music Theater in Tinley Park IL. It lists this text:

15 Jun 90 David Bowie Phoebe Legere Tinley Park IL New World Music Theater

2. The article's subject herself stated in an interview that it was 1990 and on the Sound+Vision tour: "In 1990 I opened for David Bowie on his national Sound+Vision tour. I got the call from Bowie’s people and they said, “Would you like to open for the national tour?” and I was so astonished. I said, “Yeah, where and when?”"

Open for discussion, but this is all in support of my edit placing the tour in 1990.

There are likely other people online who were on the Bowie tour who were impressed with Phoebe. Does anyone have any reliable information to support the timeline? Xblkx (talk) 12:31, 28 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
