  • ... that one critic called Patrician IV a "very dry affair"? Source: "Overall, Patrician IV is a very dry affair that does nothing to inject any sort of excitement into the business-strategy genre. " [1]
    • ALT1: ... that Patrician IV was released after the previous owners of its intellectual property had gone bankrupt? Source: "As part of its acquisition, Kalypso now owns the rights to Ascaron franchises Port Royale, Darkstar One, On the Ball, and The Patrician. Its first release using that library of intellectual properties will come this summer with a continuation of the Patrician historic strategy series." [2]

    • Comment: To the eventual reviewer here: the game was developed under the title "The Patrician III". In Germany, a "Patrician III" was never released while in the US, an expansion to The Patrician II was released as "Patrician III." The new publishers decided to unify the names -- so some of the sources referring to "The Patrician III" are actually referring to this game. Happy to answer questions if you're confused while checking this out!

5x expanded by Nomader (talk). Self-nominated at 19:52, 24 April 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Patrician IV; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

  • Expanded from 445 characters to 3026 and nominated within the seven day window. The article qualifies for DYK. ALT0 is cited, interesting and in the article. AGF on the iterations of the titles. The article uses the correct inline citations and is neutral. The QPQ is done and Earwig does not alert to any copyright violations. This might make a good quirky hook.(?)
