Move?[edit]

Why was this moved? Is it not a patriarchate? Adam Bishop (talk) 06:30, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First, it is the title of the officeholder, so it would need to be changed to Patriarchate of Lisboa. Second, Patriarchate is a honorary title. It is the Archdiocese of Lisboa according to the structure of the Catholic church. They both should be listed, but I think Patriarchate of Lisboa should be a disambig that redirects to the Archdiocese of Lisboa. Benkenobi18 (talk) 19:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, then why "Lisboa" when the name of the city in English is "Lisbon"? Adam Bishop (talk) 00:58, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And why "Roman Catholic"? What else would it be? Is that just for consistency with all RC diocese articles? Adam Bishop (talk) 01:07, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Names of dioceses comply with how the diocese itself is called by the Catholic church (which has no preference for English). In this case, Catholic Heirarchy lists this archdiocese as the archdiocese of Lisboa. I don't really care, whether it's Lisbon or Lisboa, either are perfectly acceptable. Yes, it's the Roman Catholic diocese to make it consistant with all the others. If you feel that Lisbon is more accurate given that this is english wikipedia, go right ahead and change it from Lisboa to Lisbon.

The link you have provided calls this a patriarchate, not an archdiocese. Rwflammang (talk) 01:35, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, can we please just leave this alone now? Especially if you're going to screw it up with a manual move. Adam Bishop (talk) 08:01, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm splitting the article. One for the officeholder, and another for the Archdiocese of Lisbon. Don't disambig Archdiocese of Lisbon to here anymore. Benkenobi18 (talk) 03:06, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move back[edit]

Many thanks for restoring this article, User:Cristiano Tomás.

Just doing the logical thing, haha. Thank you, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 02:16, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

86% of what?[edit]

The info box has population and Catholics. Wouldn't all the population of the patriarchate be Catholics? Or does it mean 'of Lisbon'?--134.153.14.13 (talk) 15:19, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
