Untitled[edit]

There is some speculation as to where Pat Buttram spent his formative years. I am from a small town in Alabama called Altoona, and many people around this area that i have spoken to, believe that at least some part of his life was spent in this little town. Pat Buttram served his country during WWII. I remember seeing footage of WWII and a solder was explaining what had occured in combat. That solder was Pat Buttram. If I remember correctly he was a member of a Tank unit fighting in the European theater of operations, but since my memory is going back over 50 years I can't be 100% sure. One more note[edit]

Pat Buttram often appeared as a guest on Robert W. Morgan's morning drive-time show on KMPC (710 kHz), Los Angeles, in the late 80s-early 90s. The station was owned by Buttram's dear friend, Gene Autry. The appearances were comic and fairly frequent. Sometimes a short monologue was performed, sometimes Morgan acted the straight-man to Buttram's comic retorts, and other times he was as he was in the movies: a good and trusted friend. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.121.16.240 (talk) 19:43, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other television work[edit]

Pat appeared on Saturday morning broadcasts of Gene Autry movies on CMT (Country Music Television) for several years in the 1980s(?). He and Autry appeared on a set sitting on rockers on a simulated ranch porch. They would reminisce about film making and recall events during the making of the film being shown that day. They talked before the movie, during a break between "reels" and at the end. I was never much of an Autry fan, but I found this chat very enjoyable and it gave me a new view of Autry's film days. No, it's not Buttram. Neither is the photo "free", since you extracted it from a copyrighted book. I've nominated it for deletion at Commons and removed it from this page, since non-free images cannot be used except in articles with the proper rationale. BMK (talk) 18:53, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
