Simhhyena Peer Review:

I really like how your article starts out with a broad definition, and then branches out to different sectors of participatory surveillance. I think you should add a hyphen in between “non freely.” For the phrase saying “More so, disease outbreak researchers can study social-media based patterns to decrease the time it takes to detect an outbreak, an emerging field of study called infodemiology," I think you should change it to “Through an emerging field of study called infodemiology,, disease outbreak researchers can study social-media based patterns to decrease the time it takes to detect an outbreak.” In your History section, I think you should change “This is participatory surveillance within a web-based paradigm” to “This scenario is an example of participatory surveillance within a web-based paradigm.” Other than that, the history section seems pretty good! Moreover, I like how your Social Media section is broken up into subsections, and then more subsections, as it makes it easier for the reader to understand the topic. Your tone in this section was also very good. One thing I noticed is that there is not a citation after you mentioned “Bieber Fever,” so I would add that. Is there another example of fieldwork that you can provide other than cholera to provide a more omniscient view of the topic? Lastly, I think you should add a “see also” section.

Overall, your article was a great read and had a great tone. It was very encyclopedic and an interesting read. Fantastic job! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simhhyena (talkcontribs) 18:43, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
