Hi! I'm from Palma and the name of the city in the roman period not is "Palmaria". The roman name also is Palma like today. Someone should change it. Thanks!!

External Links[edit]

Hi

We have recently produced and publihed a website which is aimed at providing a full and informative guide to the Island of Mallorca and it's capital city together with information on the resorts, towns and villages.

The information provided will be found useful for visitors and ex-pats alike and I believe it would be an asset to wikipedia if, on this wikipedia page, they were to provide an 'External Link' to our website information page for Palma de Mallorca.

The URL for this page is (...) The No1 Information Guide to Majorca

Please see WP:EL. I appreciate the fact that you discuss the placement of this link rather than just placing it everywhere. However, I see no reason to include this link. You have requested the placement of this domain on various wikipedia projects. If you do place this link, it will constitute spam and your link might be blacklisted on all wikipedia projects. The photo in the infobox[edit]

It's terrible. You can't see anything. Could someone propose a better photo? I'm sure there was a better photo before.--Cymru123 (talk) 20:29, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 25 May 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Moved. See general agreement to rename this page as proposed. If the objection is that a word like "de" is a Spanish word, I'd say that there are many English speakers who know how "el", "de" and "la" translate into English from Spanish. As well, a quick look at Palma (disambiguation) shows some usage here on Wikipedia. Have a Great Day and Happy Publishing! Palma, MajorcaPalma de Mallorca – Use WP:NATURAL disambiguation. Palma de Mallorca is also a pretty common name so there is no chance for confusion. feminist (talk) 05:08, 25 May 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. • Relist comment Apparently relist become necessary. Please should we move this page to Palma de Mallorca? –Ammarpad (talk) 05:10, 9 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is premature, because there is still an ongoing RM at Talk:Majorca (considering a move to Mallorca). See re-!vote below; this original comment is now moot. Even so, we might end up with "Palma, Mallorca" following our normal comma convention for placenames, and per WP:USEENGLISH. We don't have a good reason here to use a Spanish descriptive phrase, and the name of the place isn't "Palma de Ma[j|ll]orca", but simply Palma. The longer phrase is actually a disambiguation, in another language.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  23:58, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per SMC - As there's currently a RFC over at Talk:Majorca it makes sense to have a discussion in one place. –Davey2010Talk 19:00, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relisting comment: the discussion at Talk:Mallorca has closed in favour of a move to Mallorca. Galobtter (pingó mió) 11:18, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oops. I moved this without realizing there was an active move request, in the process of standardizing place names according to the consensus to move to Mallorca. I believe that the portion of the move already performed, changing the title to "Mallorca", is uncontroversial, so I'll leave the article where it is for now and leave the discussion open in case there is anything further to be said about "Palma de Mallorca." Please revert if necessary. Dekimasuよ! 05:48, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Whatever happens to Majorca, Palma de Mallorca is a very commonly seen name in English-language sources. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:52, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Will User:Ammarpad and User:SMcCandlish please reopine now that the island article lies at Mallorca? —  AjaxSmack  17:05, 9 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Palma, Mallorca or Palma (Mallorca), per WP:USEENGLISH, WP:COMMONNAME, and WP:ATDAB / WP:DAB. Use whichever disambiguation style is more WP:CONSISTENT with the most relevant articles. I'm not really sure, and we need to standardize this stuff better, more broadly. Definitely move from "Majorca" to "Mallorca", regardless. Jes, should have done this jesterday, jou know?  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼
  • Support Palma de Mallorca, since it appears to be very common in English-language sources. Dicklyon (talk) 04:44, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support same reason as above LICA98 (talk) 05:07, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support for consistency with Mallorca and WP:NATURAL. No such user (talk) 14:41, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
