Article for Deletion

Are people really so stupid that they can't put 'outdoor' and 'activity' together and figure it out themselves? This article is unnecessary. ~ Author unknown.

Subheadings

As of today, the subheadings have short descriptions of only four of these activities. All of these have their own articles. I have a few issues, as follows: {{helpme}} 1) What is the Wiki's policy on duplication of information? 1a) If it is OK to duplicate information, then I would like to see short descriptions for all of the activities. 1b) If not, they should be deleted. 2. This article needs descriptions for all of the activities listed that do not have any articles (or should they have their own articles?), and for essays that only have a general link (such as "safari"). Activities in multiple categories of Types of Outdoor Activities table

Horseback riding falls under several columns of the Types of Outdoor Activities table. This is the same with several other activities. Therefore, horseback riding has been added under the heading See Also. Does anyone think we should add activities under multiple categories of the Types of Outdoor Activities table? Or would that be too redundant? I have added a "Note:" above the table that I hope takes care of this issue. Phoenix Aglow (talk) 23:46, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I suggest to merge Outdoor recreation and Outdoor activity because both articles cover the same ground. It could go either way, but I suggest the move to go to "Outdoor recreation", because the term is more precise and therefore preferable, although the "Outdoor activity" article is further developed. 2nd merger proposal

I prpose that Adventure recreation be merged into this article as it seems to be mostly discussing the same subjects as those included here - pretty much the same reason as the previous proposal above. --wintonian ^talk 02:30, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

I fleshed out the Outdoor activities article with the issues of beneficial use vs. pleasurable appreciation. As can be confirmed by duplicate entries in both the Adventure recreation and this Outdoor recreation's paragraph on "show what they can do" (beneficial use) can be merged.
