It must be added that "The rivalry is largely based on political differences (especially regarding immigration and minority rights), with PSG traditionally representing the right-wing and Marseille traditionally representing the left." as said in the top of the page is obviously wrong. Some far-right-wing supporters (about 100-200, parked in the down part of Boulogne Kop) are part, unfortunately, of those of Paris Saint-Germain but should never be regarded as representing anything more than themselves. You might even divide the two kops of Paris Saint-Germain, one that should be more right-wing (not far-right) and the other that is assumedly left-wing (even far-left). At the opposite, there is no real political tendency for Marseilles supporters, as the club has been the most popular in France, and definitely the club of his whole city, even for the 30-35pc who vote far-right. Thank you to correct the introduction.

Nasri and Ben Arfa transfers

Until Nasri is officially announced as an Arsenal player and Ben Arfa is officially announced as an OM player, they should be listed as part of their respective teams - Marseille and Lyon, respectively. Ben Arfa has only had his fee agreed to - Lyon have to sort out their contractual obligations to Ben Arfa (which includes giving him a peice of the transfer fee), and he has to pass a medical. Medicals sound simple, but not to be ignored - ask Lillian Thuram.

Reads like a send-up

The opening paragraph gives an account of the club that sounds like it was copied and pasted straight from the Marseille website. The rest of the article continues in the same tone. I don't know a lot about the club, but someone with knowledge of Olympique Marseille affairs has to edit this to make it at least somewhat impartial, because right now it's just ridiculous. The article of such an important club in world football shouldn't be in this sorry state.

Badge

I removed instances of "crest" and replaced them with "badge". Call it a logo, device or a badge, but a crest it certainly ain't. There seems to be a bad habit of calling football club badges (mostly pseudo heraldic) "crests" Duarcain (talk) 13:10, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Origin of the team colours

Well in fact, both interpretations are correct in my opinion. OM was clearly referenced to ancient greece (like SS Lazio, that explain why they share the same colours). The fact that white and blue ara also the colour of the city was probably an other argument in choosing those colours (in reality, Marseille's flag is way older than the greek one... CA Paris-Neuilly as subsidiary of OM

Marcel Artelesa and Jean-Pierre Tokoto list CA Paris-Neuilly as their clubs during 1969-1970. From this and this and this, P-N appears to have been a second division subsidiary of OM that only lasted a year.
