Deletion by XLinkBot[edit]

Could a moderator explain to me why XLinkBot deleted all my today's work on this profile? (which I undeleted)

What I have done so far is as follows:

1. Completion of the Infobox section corresponding to an actor 2. Completion of the categories section at the bottom 3. Completion of the External links section

I will complete the body and its content tomorrow or another day, when I have time to finish. If there are any links that do not respect Wikipedia rules, it is a mistake of my part and it will be corrected appropriately. Please let me know. But it does not justify to destroy all the work I have done... does it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.218.219.56 (talk) 22:14, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kickboxing World Champion[edit]

It is widely reported that Gruner is a World Champion kickboxer. However...

Reports vary, some state "1986 World Champion", some just say "World Champion", this Czech reference (https://www.csfd.cz/tvurce/20850-olivier-gruner/biografie/) describes him as being a three-time World Champion (1985/86/87).

What is verifiable is that:

Now it is possible that he won the World Championship of some other organisation or code. But I can't work out what that might have been. I am developing the unfortunate suspicion that he might have taken his silver medal and claimed a win in 1986 (at a time with no google) to pad his Hollywood resume and build his action-man myth to support his film career (because being an elite counter-terror/piracy marine isn't enough I guess). Or he referred to himself as a World Championship medallist and the press did the rest. This would be unfortunate, but all the sources claiming that he is a World Champion appear to be a feedback loop of film-industry reporting which sound like they've read his personal website or are repeating "common knowledge" without any independent verification.

As a WP:BLP article, we need statements here to be accurate and verifiable. We should also be concerned that a user who is probably the subject has edited this article in the past (@OGruner), and more recent WP:PUFFERY edits from 203.218.219.56 and 203.218.219.244 are probably the same person on a dynamic IP from their ISP (which could be a fanboy, not necessarily the subject. But it's suspicious).

Per WP:BLPREMOVE I'm removing such claims until a verifiable source is provided. Hemmers (talk) 10:38, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
