Maybe write about how it was made by MattKC?[edit]

See the title. Would make a good "History" section, anyway. TheTechRobo (talk) 02:38, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

While this would be an interesting thing to talk about (in theory), there are a few issues with this idea:
  • MattKC isn't notable by any means (no offense to him), so it would be useless info to 99.9% of people who just want to learn about the software itself, rather than who made it. Think about it, would the average person care that Linus Torvalds made Linux? Probably not.
  • Matt has made the clearly deliberate decision to make it as difficult as possible to work out who works on Olive, likely to maintain a sense of professionalism. The only times it's been mentioned would be a few live-streams and the ownership of the Git repo.
  • Speaking of mentioning it, a live-stream or a commit log is a primary source, and not a very reliable one at that. Wikipedia doesn't like primary sources, mostly because of conflict of interest issues and the biased nature of a person or organization referring to themselves.
