"At this point the plan has been suggested, but until it happens—until the man is even president—there is no way now to know that this will happen."

Even though, right now, it's only a plan for a plan (as the plan per se has not been drafted), and even though it cannot begin to happen until January 20, this is significant news and already part of the political and economic process. It must be valid to discuss it here in some form. My main reservation is that this page will duplicate content presently found under Presidential transition of Barack Obama. However, the economic transition plans are discussed there in the broader context of the Obama administration's personnel and policies; whereas the significance of the economic plan, in the context of the global crisis, renders it highly desirable that there be a separate page on the topic, so that it may interact with the numerous other articles on the Economic crisis of 2008. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by interacting. It's isn't the case that every time there's a article that's a list, or that's about a topic that is decomposable into parts, there needs to be an article about each of the items or parts. On the contrary, the items or parts should not have separate articles unless those articles stand on their own in the face of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
None of the components of Obama's plan will have any impact until they exist. Yes, a plan was announced, so that plan itself is a thing that exists, and it makes sense for there to be a Wikipedia article on it. But it is not true that there needs to be ongoing coverage in Wikipedia of the development of each of the parts of that plan, none of which has a true existence yet, because WP:Wikipedia is not a newspaper. —Largo Plazo (talk) 11:07, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
